Iridium Tariffe Prepagate - Nuova Scadenza Traffico prepagato Dicembre 2013

ENGLISH   EXEMPLE 1 Expiry of units   EXEMPLE 2 Expiry of units

As part of the rate changes to some of our pre-paid e‐voucher offerings, Iridium is planning to modify our policy pertaining to the carry‐over of unit balances for existing and future prepaid customers.

The primary change is that effective December 17, 2013, prepaid units that have been carried over for more than three years will be expired on a daily basis from prepaid account balances.

For any customer who has purchased a 3k/5k e‐voucher since December 17, 2009 and going forward, a four‐year expiry period on units will apply.

Any customer whose has an on-going balance of units that are less than three years old are unaffected by this plan.

Note: Unit balances and expiry information is available by calling 2888 or sending and SMS to 2888 from your handset.

As long as the account is active, no units will expire before December 17, 2013. Users will have from September 2012 until December 17th, 2013 to use all of their units.

Starting on December 17, 2013, expiry for unused units per the policy will begin to take effect. After December 17, 2013, Iridium will expire those minutes greater than 3 years old, if applicable, on a daily basis. Units will expire based on the oldest voucher purchase activity which is greater than three years (four years for 3k/5k e‐vouchers) that has not yet been consumed, if applicable.

Who does this affect? This change affects all prepaid accounts. It does not apply to scratch cards or OpenPort GoChat cards.2.

When will units begin expiring? As long as the account is active, no units will expire before December 17, 2013. Users will have from September 2012 until December 17th, 2013 to use all of their units. Starting on December 17, 2013, expiry for unused units per the policy will begin to take effect.3. What happens after December 17, 2013?

When will my units expire? After December 17, 2013, Iridium will expire those minutes greater than 3 years old, if applicable, on a daily basis. Units will expire based on the oldest voucher purchase activity which is greater than three years (four years for 3k/5k e‐vouchers) that has not yet been consumed, if applicable.

How will the minutes to be expired be calculated? On December 17, 2013, Iridium will consider only those vouchers that have been purchased more than three years ago. The total number of units purchased more than three years ago will first be calculated. If the total prepaid minutes consumed during the lifetime of the account are greater than the number of minutes purchased more than three years ago, no minutes will be expired as the account will have already consumed those e‐voucher units greater than three years. If the total prepaid minutes consumption is less than the number of units purchased more than three years ago, the difference between the total purchased units and the total consumed units will be expired. For those customers who have purchased a 3k/5k voucher within the previous four years, a four year expiry will be applicable, but the same methodology as described above will apply.

Is this a one‐time event? No. Iridium’s policy has changed and unused units will expire per the prepaid expiry policy, as applicable.

How often will expiry be applied? Iridium will expire units at the end of the day, every day with the same procedure as described above

How will customers be informed of the balance of minutes that will expire? Unit balances are available to customers by calling 2888 or sending an SMS to 2888 from their Iridium handset. As of February 2013, prepaid subscribers are also given the total number of units that may expire if not used before December 17, 2013. After December 17, 2013, users will be given the balance of units that may expire if not used within the next six months. This message will be based on the oldest e‐voucher purchase activity and units that are subject to expiry within the next six months, if applicable.

What if a customer hasn’t purchased a voucher that has units in the past three years? What if they have only used an add‐time voucher to extend the units they initially purchased? A prepaid account that has a zero unit balance but has not exceeded its account expiry date is still active and  is eligible for additional purchases of minutes or e‐vouchers to replenish the account’s unit balance.

What’s the difference between account expiry and minutes expiry? The account expiry rule has not changed. A prepaid account has expired when the account exceeds its expiry period. Minutes expiry indicates that unused minutes carried for longer than 3 years (4 years for 3k/5k e‐vouchers) will be expired.

How is the maximum time extension period affected? Maximum expiry is still 24 months. Customers can still only purchase an extension, either through evoucher or add‐times for a maximum of 24 months of expiry.
