Enigma
GSM crypto-phone
Enigma Features
The enigma mobile phone is produced in Germany and among our
partners we have Deutsche Telekom with their subsidary TeleSec,
the leading producer of data security and data encryption services
and Infineon, the integrated circuits manufacturer of the Siemens
group.
Each mobile phone has a unique pair of keys, individually generated
and certified in the Deutsche Telekom trust centre, which are
saved on the T-TeleSec NetKey card built into the mobile phone.
When another Enigma mobile phone (with its own unique pair of
keys) authenticitation of both partners is accomplished by using
the key pairs and the chip cards. Then, a "one-time key"
is generated by the chip cards (one out of approximately 1038
possible keys), used for this one conversation only.
This key then encrypts all signals sent between the mobile phones.
Whoever attempts to intercept this encrypted data stream will
hear nothing but white noise whose content cannot be decrypted
even by using the most efficient mainframes.
Enigma can be used for normal calls. This is important for business
people. Whoever uses the Enigma will not need a second mobile
phone for their normal calls and can utilize the available SIM
card when switching to secure communication, therefore, keeping
their accustomed number.
