WESTWOOD, Mass. (November 21, 2006) – The MicroOptical Corporation today announced that the Shrine Auditorium will give myvu™ Made for iPod® personal media viewers as gifts to the winners of the American Music Awards. The AMAs will take place on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and will be televised on ABC at 8:00 p.m./7:00 p.m. Central. Winners will be announced during the event and to date, Mariah Carey, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Eyed Peas and Nickelback lead with three nominations each.

AMA winners will each receive the first available myvu Made for iPod viewers as they walk backstage for their press interviews. Myvu will be commercially available in early December 2006 at www.myvu.com and will retail for $299.

“The entertainment industry is becoming increasingly mobile and we think myvu is a fabulous solution for on-the-go music videos,” said Duke Collister, general manager of the Shrine Auditorium. “When Chris Kissinger, our multimedia director, brought the product to us, we simply fell in love and are thrilled to be giving it to the winners.”

“We’re excited to formally debut the myvu Made for iPod with the Shrine Auditorium at the AMAs,” said Kip Kokinakis, president and CEO of MicroOptical. “Market enthusiasm for myvu has been tremendous leading up to our commercial launch and we couldn’t think of a better venue for its premiere to the general public.”

The myvu personal media viewer, Made for iPod edition, is the smallest, lightest eyewear display available today. It’s the perfect solution for viewing movies from the new iTunes® 7 and is compatible with the 30GB, 60GB and the new 80GB Apple® iPods with video. Myvu comprises lightweight eyewear with built-in video viewing and audio systems, an ultra-thin battery pack for eight hours of viewing time that doubles as a protective iPod case, and a small pendant with easy access to playback controls. The viewing experience is comparable to a large TV screen from six feet away. And unlike an immersive headset system that blocks you from seeing anything but the screen, myvu offers users “situational awareness” for on-the-go lifestyles.
